Halloween looks very different this year due to COVID-19. That doesn’t mean it can’t still be AMAZING! Many annual events have unfortunately been cancelled, and others are still on but with modifications. Unless current guidelines dramatically change, traditional trick-or-treating IS allowed. Some families may not feel comfortable doing that this year though, and that’s OK.
Don’t let that get you down! Macaroni Kid Rutland – Windsor is committed to providing a reliable source of family fun events in the area. And what’s more, we’re participating in a nation-wide movement to GET BOO’d!
This is the LAST week to register to win your own FREE Boo Bag! Submit your entry form by Sunday, October 18th at NOON
We will be BOO’ing 20 lucky families in and around the City of Rutland from October 19 – 24. This is completely FREE! We will come to your house, drop off a basket of Halloween goodies, and leave instructions that YOU’VE BEEN BOO’d! It is then up to you to BOO TWO (2) more families with buckets or bags of goodies and the instructions.
The idea is to keep the fun going until Halloween night!
HOW DO YOU BOO SOMEONE?
1. Fill a bag, basket, or bucket with Halloween goodies.
There are no rules for how big it should be, or how much should be in there. This is an act of kindness to make someone smile. Simple items like candy, snacks, glow sticks, stickers, bubbles, etc. are great ideas!
2. Make 2 copies of the WE’VE BEEN BOO’d sign with instructions to include in the bags.
3. Leave your bag on the doorstep of a friend, family member, neighbor, etc. Ring the doorbell and run!
The recipient opens the door to discover that they’ve been BOO’d! Kids love the surprise of it all. And yes its fun to get goodies, but in my experience, BOOing others is even more fun than getting your own treats.
HOW DO YOU SIGN UP TO GET BOO’D?
1. Fill out the entry form HERE
2. Must live within the City of Rutland or within 5 miles of Main Street Park at 5 South Main Street, Rutland.
I am personally delivering these bags and don’t have a magic Santa sleigh to speed things along. This is the first year Rutland is getting BOO’d. If all goes well, we will consider expanding next year!
3. You MUST be willing to BOO TWO (2) more families.
Please do not enter if you are not going to keep the chain reaction going. This is meant to be safe and fun for the kids during a difficult year, with a ‘pay it forward’ attitude.
